Recruitment at Birmingham Tigers

We have an exciting opportunity for Volunteers at Birmingham Tigers. We are recruiting for Volunteer Managers and Coaches for our Junior football teams. Currently our football teams, are playing in the South Birmingham Football League and U16 Walsall Junior Football League. These positions are for immediate starts, if suitable candidates are found.

However Volunteers that wish not to get involved with Managing or Coaching Football Teams can get involved with any other activities which Birmingham Tigers host or hold. ALL volunteers will go through a CRB check. They will have to attend a Child protection workshop and Emergency First Aid course. These will be paid for by Birmingham Tigers.

Description:

We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking, conscientious, and reliable applicants. Football Coaches and Managers need to deliver a range of high quality physical activities to young people from 7 – 11 years including a young Girls football team. These teams will be running during the 2011-2012 football season.
Pre requisite for the for Managers roles includes holding a current FA Level 2 Coaching Certificate and for Coaching the minimum requirement is an FA level 1 badge. Applicants must also have a valid First Aid Certificate and attended a Child protection workshop with in the last 3 years. They should also have their own transport to travel to various locations.

Candidates for either Managers or Coaches positions will be required to obtain an enhanced CRB disclosure to confirm their ability to work with children.

  • Must have own car and a Driving Licence, with a D1/Midus Licence, would be at an advantage.
  • Must be computer literate with good organization and communication skills.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Experience in a similar role is essential.
  • You will be expected to attend ALL training sessions, matches and relevant meetings.
  • Responsible for managing Junior Football Teams, you will have a good eye for talent, and the ability to motivate and develop a team through coaching and leading by example.
  • Must have a passion to succeed.


    Duties will include:

  • Handling cash (membership fees, subs, fines)
  • Banking (membership fees, subs, fines)
  • Organising the Logistic of transport for away games, tournaments and team building exercises.
  • Shadowing and assisting the Manager with duties required (Coaches).
  • Making/receiving telephone calls and liasing with teams, leagues or Secretary.
  • Ensuring kits are washed.
  • Reporting to Senior Management with summary tables for end of the month meetings.
  • Any other associated tasks required.
